Roof pitch designations are comprised of two numbers indicating a ratio.

A 2 12 roof slope is considered low so the roofing materials you would use on a steeper roof may not work. One of the most important aspects of trying to get the roof right though is the pitch. Pitch is the term used to describe the angle slope or slant of your roof. Conventional roofs have the pitch ranging from 4 12 to 9 12 33 3 to 75.
